Here’s a really interesting story of mummified monks in Japan who would basically starve and go through bunch of bullshit so they can be mummified right…

The first part of the process involved a change of diet; a 1000-day period in which the priest ate only nuts and seeds that could be gathered in the forest surrounding his temple. Physical hardship was deliberately imposed with the goal of reducing the body fat to nearly nothing, allowing for easy decomposition.

Believe it or not, the second 1,000-day stage was even more restrictive. Now the priest could only eat bark and roots from pine trees, a process insured to turn any human being into a walking skeleton and to decrease the amount of body fluids, making preservation even easier.

Patent FAIL – Jesus Lamp Patent!

It’s really hard to believe that there’s a group of people called, “Kinky Anarchists” when “kinky” conjours up images of “innocent” and “conforming”, a complete opposite of what they seem to be about.

It’s a good thing you know there ARE weird people in Oakland, especially on Telegraph.  (oh yeah, did we mention there’s some great Korean food on that street too?)

Kinky Anarchists Group doesn’t sound Kinky to me.

Yes, churches and other buildings can be moved eventually….

It’s actually been done too, in October 2007, a German cathedral, first mentioned in documents in 1297, was moved using a huge trailer platform from its original emplacement by a mining company. The village it was built in 710 years ago was evacuated and was going to become a coal mining site, so, forced by German legislation, the contracting company had to spend 3 million euro to move the church to another location.
