I have personally experienced race inequality where I grew up in South Korea.  Still, there’s a lot of people who are racists when it comes to dealing with outsiders, simply because South Korea isn’t as diverse as it’s hard to find other races other than Koreans really.

I guess China is a bit the same way, here’s an example where a half black/half Chinese girl enters a talent show in China and called “chocolate girl” by the anchor.  I guess they meant it a complement but it’s still technically racist.

I think because U.S. has gone through these racial issues over the last 60 years or so and have resolved many issues, we can clearly see (outside the box) that race equality still has a LONG way to go in Asia period.

There’s not even laws to protect the racial equality in Asia as far as I know, only to protect the natural citizens at best.  Of course, I am sure time will fix things but in the meanwhile, you need to keep teaching people what’s right and wrong before it gets out of hand.

So it turns out the haunting was nothing more than some catfish in the sewer system, but… how did they get their in the first place?

No, Daugherty is not that kind of guy. He granted his son’s wish and built him a Civil War-era cannon not a model, the real deal. The howitzer fires and rivals anything seen at Civil War reenactments across the country. He said it took him about two weeks to build and is worth about $6,000. “It looks like something right out of the battle at Gettysburg,” Daugherty said. The cast iron and steel 4-inch gun barrel is 36 inches long. It is mounted on a wooden gun carriage with two 36- inch diameter wheels. The cannon weighs about 700 pounds, so it is not something Logan will be able to carry to school in his backpack.

The latest one, created in a wheat field at Silbury Hill, Wiltshire, southern England, shows a floor of checkered tiles stretching down a long, high-ceilinged corridor with doors leading off each side.

Crazy Red Crab Migration!

Call it weird or whatever but they’ve had indoor beaches in Asia as long as I can remember.  This particular Japanese indoor beach is sorta outrageously cool, with artificial sky, surf, sand, and all that without risking skin cancer.

Russians have been prone to trying dangerous stuff for fun and thrills including hiding under the train rails right before it goes by.

Of course, they really need to build more amusement parks where people can do this more safely.  I just wonder how many people died accidently while doing this, that we will never find out or they will never tell you.

Russian teens have now new fun. They dare trains.
This is needed to be done fast, because if one is appearing before the train too long before and machinist could see him and start breaking, so they run on the rails just before the train so he couldn’t start breaking and fell down on the rails, then the train moves above the person at his maximum speed, just a few inches from his head and back.
Russian teen girls seem to go for this too.

Check out this crazy sulfuric acid lake in Indonesia.  This guy figured he’d take a rubber boat to test the waters and indeed, the lake itself is as toxic as the sulfuric acid in your battery.

Kawah Ijen is one of the most incredible and surreal places I’ve ever visited. It’s the site of a labor intensive sulfur mining operation where miners collect and carry huge loads of pure sulfur up from the crater floor along a steep, rocky path amid clouds of sulfur dioxide gas, all for the equivalent of about ten dollars a day.

It is also home to the largest lake of sulfuric acid in the world. I wanted to explore this volcano in the most extreme manner I could think of… By taking a small boat out onto the acid lake. The ph of the lake water is 0.5, similar to the strength of car battery acid.

Here’s a really interesting story of mummified monks in Japan who would basically starve and go through bunch of bullshit so they can be mummified right…

The first part of the process involved a change of diet; a 1000-day period in which the priest ate only nuts and seeds that could be gathered in the forest surrounding his temple. Physical hardship was deliberately imposed with the goal of reducing the body fat to nearly nothing, allowing for easy decomposition.

Believe it or not, the second 1,000-day stage was even more restrictive. Now the priest could only eat bark and roots from pine trees, a process insured to turn any human being into a walking skeleton and to decrease the amount of body fluids, making preservation even easier.

Ant Eggs Eaten in Mexico!

My grandfather past away couple years back.  Before he past away, he wanted his ashes to be thrown into the ocean.  He told us that he wanted to “see” us wherever we are in the world and the ocean connects everything.

If my grandfather’s right, then I would probably want my ashes to be thrown in the water.

Then again, there’s an underwater grave in Florida, so you can have your whole burial there without having to spread your ashes separately somewhere else.

Okay, I know this is depressing to talk about death but if there is afterlife, you might not regret being able to travel everywhere through the water.

Neptune Memorial Reef, three miles off Key Biscayne, Florida offers a final resting place for those who love the sea. Earthly remains are cremated, then mixed with cement and laid on the ocean floor with a memorial plaque. The cemetery lies 14 meters below the surface.

Zengyōji (善行寺) temple in the city of Kanazawa (Ishikawa prefecture) is home to the mummified head of a three-faced demon. Legend has it that a resident priest discovered the mummy in a temple storage chamber in the early 18th century. Imagine his surprise.

We had the Obama sushi from Japan couple months back, now we got Obama Fingers from Germany!   This would definitely be a racist problem in America (due to the fact it’s fried chicken) but I think it should be fine for Germany.  Heck, I like to eat a lot of fried chicken, KFC is my favorite fast food.

I think China still has some issues in dealing with their students.  This is human rights thing, not a bad student.  The teacher should really goto jail for couple years.

When his teacher, Guo, found out that young Zheng had not completed his homework, she flipped out.

“She was very angry at the time,” he said. “She ripped and twisted my cheeks with both her hands and then she lifted me off the ground.”

The teacher held the boy up until one of his cheeks actually ripped off and the boy was bleeding profusely.

Without hesitation the teacher reached down and picked up Zheng’s cheek skin, put it on his face, and instructed the boy go home immediately.

Weird Teachers in China!

I used to study tarantulas back in high school and found that they are not as scary as they look.  (Harmless to humans pretty much but they can eat mice.)

Anyways, I guess you can eat tarantulas in Cambodia and I agree it might be a good idea to take a bite of that spider meat every once in awhile.  Think of all the protein!

Next time you are in Cambodia, make sure to get some of this grub.

One of the things you can experience is the Korean Sashimi, slightly different fish and way of serving from Japanese Sashimi.

You can walk into any restaurant in Korea near the ocean and they will make you sushi from a live fish.  (and sometimes the head included too.)

It’s a wonderful sashimi experience and you get the “whole” fish instead of just couple pieces unlike Japanese sashimi.

I don’t think they have Korean restaurants close enough to the ocean here in America but if you get a chance, make sure to get some authentic Korean sashimi in Korea.

Korean Sashimi

My favorite Korean dish is the Octopus sashimi.  Even after you cut the octopus up into pieces, they will move around and when you chew, the tentacles will try to stick to your tongue.
