Facebook FAIL!

Funnier yet, when people initially began to search for “white people stole my car”, Google suggested that they might actually have wanted to search for “black people stole my car.” Truemorist wonders if this indicates anything about race relations in the United States, because, according to Google Insights, 100% of the people searching for “white people stole my car” were from the United States.

What do I think of all this bs?  I think even putting “white, black, or asian” in front of “people stole my car” is obviously racist headline.  I wonder if Google will put a “racist” filter for their search engine, perhaps they should.   I think there’s a fine line between racism and freedom of speech, racism should never be allowed to be heard by anyone, regardless of their color, religion, and sex.  Let me go on further to say that there’s still a lot of countries in the world that don’t fully support the idea of equality among races, something sad to see.  Just think to yourself, “what if I was born white, what if I was born black, or what if I was born Asian”, before you speak.

Within days of its launch on September 10th, a Japanese website called Webkare that provides virtual boyfriends to schoolgirls in Japan has racked up plenty of new members and every Japanese girl is going crazy about it.

Needless to say, I believe Japan’s culture is made for stuff like this.  It’s not a bad thing, sorta like that electronic-pet-dog you can get. (also from Japan)

In Japan, girls are crazy over virtual boyfriends. Webkare (Web Boyfriend in Japanese), a mix between a social network and dating simulation site, is Nippon’s newest web sensation. Geared exclusively towards girls, the site attracted over 10,000 members just 5 days after its release on September 10, racking up 3.5 million page views in the same time frame.

The site is a huge hit over here. Girls sign up and become members of a social network but also users of a dating simulation in cartoon style. They have to try to hook up with one of four male Anime characters (who are the “stars” of the site) through “conversations” and must collaborate with other Webkare members in order to move on in the game. Eventually they conquer the heart of the chosen cartoon boy.

It’s pretty weird but clever. Dating simulations have been popular in Japan for quite a while now, but Webkare marks the first time the concept has been brought online and combined with social networking functionality.

Okay, these weird baby hand soaps are plain weird for my taste.  They should rename it “cut-off baby hand soap”.

Weird, and wonderful, these little hands are actual soap. About 10 different hands in different skin tones come to a pack. Handmade of goat’s milk and vegetable glycerin and slightly, lightly sceneted, these are the original Baby Hand Soaps by Marie Gardeski for Foliage. Each one ranges in size from 1/2” to 2.” Really quite lovely! (and, ok, a little creepy).
