I think this goes to show how far people can take their imagination to reality, a very good thing for teaching kids indeed.

Mike Daugherty asked his 11-year-old son Logan what he wanted for his birthday. The boy said, “I want a cannon.” Dad didn’t scoff at Logan’s request by saying, “How about a hippopotamus instead,” as a Christmas song from another era lamented. No, Daugherty is not that kind of guy. He granted his son’s wish and built him a Civil War-era cannon not a model, the real deal. The howitzer fires and rivals anything seen at Civil War reenactments across the country. He said it took him about two weeks to build and is worth about $6,000. “It looks like something right out of the battle at Gettysburg,” Daugherty said. The cast iron and steel 4-inch gun barrel is 36 inches long. It is mounted on a wooden gun carriage with two 36- inch diameter wheels. The cannon weighs about 700 pounds, so it is not something Logan will be able to carry to school in his backpack.

I think China still has some issues in dealing with their students.  This is human rights thing, not a bad student.  The teacher should really goto jail for couple years.

When his teacher, Guo, found out that young Zheng had not completed his homework, she flipped out.

“She was very angry at the time,” he said. “She ripped and twisted my cheeks with both her hands and then she lifted me off the ground.”

The teacher held the boy up until one of his cheeks actually ripped off and the boy was bleeding profusely.

Without hesitation the teacher reached down and picked up Zheng’s cheek skin, put it on his face, and instructed the boy go home immediately.

Weird Teachers in China!

Well, there a slew of some weird architecture over here but this one caught my eye, the Kansas City Public Library.  Basically, the side of the building features bunch of famous books by bunch of famous writers.

This is a really good way to make a public libarary a fun place for kids to go while giving free advertising to those famous writers. (who are probably rich out of their minds anyways but…or dead…) :p

Yup, I guess fine foods can be made with animal testicles but for me, even hearing “testicles” in food sounds disgusting.

The ingredients for his testicle pizza recipe include cheese, onion, pepper, bacon and bull’s testicles. “It’s Italian pizza with Serbian balls”, explains Erovic. The book also contains more cordon bleu recipes, such as calf testicles in wine and testicles with bourgignon sauce.

Rainbow Book produces Rainbows!

If you thought Bush was a miserable failure, you are right but here’s another woman who got arrested for not returning library books, a definite miserable failure.

Dalibor did not respond to four notices from the library, two phone calls and two letters. The library forwarded the case to police, who issued a citation for Dalibor’s failure to return the materials or pay the fine. The citation included a court date, which Dalibor admits she ignored.

With arrest warrant in hand, police showed up at Dalibor’s door and led her away in handcuffs.

Perhaps the maker of this Japanese English tutoring video was one of those people who have a bad case of diarrhea on a daily basis.  Better yet, he probably has “chronic” diarrhea and poops on girls with bikinis on an “hourly” basis while shooting the video itself and the girls love it.  (Well, they seem to love it you know?)

Just one word of advice, “Do not hire major perverts or people with chronic case of diarrhea for your next English Tutoring promotion video”.
