Wow, check out these great DIY Nike Sneakers artwork, all made from recycled metal!  You can’t wear them obviously but these would indeed be great pieces of artwork to display in your home even.  – via keetsa

An American artist by the name of Gabriel Dishaw designs the sneaks out of discarded wires, bolts and other small metal bits and pieces. The result is nothing short of brilliant. Each sneaker shoe is molded and designed to bring awareness to the recycling and upcycling movement, as artist David feels that many things can be reused when a tad of creativity and talent are put together.

Here’s some awesome collection of can cars from Sandy’s can cars.

My favorite is this Guinness classic can car, featuring what seems like a whopping V8 from back in the day with a cool exhaust.  What a cool hot rod, now I wish they can make these in real-life size, that’d be the next step in recycling/re-making.

I have always religiously recycled but often spent time looking at the graphics on the can and looking at the shape of the bottom thinking “That could make a really cool wheel”. After having an accident which left me with some time to use, I decided to put pencil to paper and try and make a racing car using the bottoms of cans as its wheels, and the graphics as the decoration for the body.

The latest one, created in a wheat field at Silbury Hill, Wiltshire, southern England, shows a floor of checkered tiles stretching down a long, high-ceilinged corridor with doors leading off each side.

The three-dimensional design, 60m in diameter, is just metres from the 5000-year-old West Kennet Long Barrow burial grounds, one of the largest and most impressive Neolithic graves in Britain.

Here’s an interesting artwork, a Beijing Landmark, all made with female human hair, go Mr. Xin!!!

Mr Xin has been working on this great looking model of the Tian’anmen Gate Tower in Tian’anmen Square for over 5 months. It is 86cm long, 32cm wide and 60cm high. He used 11kg of hair to build this model. Amazing!

An interesting detail is that this model is done using only women’s hair. According to Mr Xin, women´s hair is softer and easier to work with.

Here’s a cool concept for sky ads, skywriting that uses exhaust fumes to advertise businesses.  I have seen other types of sky advertising but this one is definitely the most creative.  Now, will someone care to advertise DeClubz.com? (The source for all kinds of weird and bizarre information on the internet?)

What a cool technique, it reminds me of the old computer days where dot-matrix printers were of norm in the 80s.

Skywriting is often done into the wind so the words don’t spread so quickly. The puffs of words can drift 10 to 20 miles before completely dispersing in a gentle breeze. The message is gone with the wind in about 20 minutes, in hopes that they remain etched in memories for miles. The dot-matrix formed letters have a longer lasting effect that the old-school technique.

More and more artists are striving to new ways to make art and bacon is no exception.  Here’s an interesting art piece that uses bacon as primary source of medium.  Of course, we have seen bunch of other interesting edible art works such as sushi and gum but this one probably is the best for breakfast, especially if you have a family of 10 or more.  (these bacons should be gone very quickly!)

Here’s some cool junk art from an artist in Zimbabwe:

Dexter Nyamainashe of Chiweshe, Zimbabwe is aged 41 and six years ago he started combining various art pieces he made to create what he describes as a “Global Village of Peace”. He uses scrap material to make little figures, minature homes and scenes which come alive when he rotates a piece of wire behind the art piece. The minatures move, they cook, they wash laundry, they play, they smoke a joint, they look for cattle etc… The animals fly, they run, they eat and they kill…

Dexter says he has had a difficult time promoting his art locally for the following reasons:

a) The local city council has called his art nonsense and refused to give him a license to operate. He has been chased away and even arrested for “illegal” vending.
b) Locals are spooked by his “Global Village”. He says some people think it might be related to witchcraft so he has to explain to them by demonstrating how it works.
c) He used to work with the local art gallery but their commission was too high leaving him with very little.
d) He managed to gain the support of a local shop owner who tells the city council that Dexter is part of their own store display. This means he can display his work free of charge, avoid police harassment and avoid costly flea market charges.

Yes, this weird, long “shoe” is a piece of art.

“Trophy,” a show up in Philadelphia by the Dufala Brothers, includes these sculptures called “Special Air Mission 28000″ and “Long Runner.” If you’re in the Philly area, I’m sure it’s worth a look! I’m still trying to figure out how you mold a shoe sole that long; any ideas? Via Cool Hunting.

PurpleSlinky featured some really weird toaster art like the one you see above.  Of course, these artworks are edible so, get your butter and knife.

Seriously, though, it’s amazing what kinds of creative uses people have put their toasters and minds to.  I love it when bored people take a few steps outside of the box.  Sometimes it’s a few steps too many.  You be the judge.
