Bees in Thailand have been reported to drink human tears!  Ridiculous, no bee will be landing near my eye anytime soon though. – link

..workers drank lachrymation (tears) from human eyes in more than 262 naturally-occurred cases at 10 sites in N and S Thailand during all months of the year. A few visits were also seen to eyes of zebu and dog, indicating a probable broad mammalian host range. On man the bees were relatively gentle visitors, mostly landing on the lower eyelashes from where they imbibed tears for 0.5-2.5 min, often singly but occasionally in congregations of 5-7 specimens per eye.

Well, this is kinda of a gross image but a man loses in a bullfight.  He is okay now but seems like bullfighters have to be careful for disasters like this. – link

About 10 catfish were found swimming in the sewer. Two were about 10 pounds and the rest were about 5 pounds each.

So it turns out the haunting was nothing more than some catfish in the sewer system, but… how did they get their in the first place?

In 1995, the first owner of the house was a catfish lover.

One day, he bought a bucket full of cat fish for dinner and left them in the bathroom waiting to be gutted. Apparently, two of them escaped through the toilet bowl and made a happy family of 10 living in the sewage pond.

1. Armadillo – Armadillos are probably one of the weirdest lookin’ animals in the world.  You might remember the aliens from the movie “The Fifth Element” was very similar to these armadillos. (at least I thought so…)  These animals primarily live in Texas in the US and can curl up into a ball.

2. Tamarin – Tamarins are super, cute and furry animals.  I have seen them at my local SF Zoo, they are the size of your hands.  Plus, the male will carry the baby tamarins if the female gets tired.  Very cute animals.  (and yes, weird too)  These animals mainly live in Central America and South America.

3. Flamingos – Okay, call me dumb but I didn’t realize Flamingos really existed until I saw one at the zoo couple months ago.  The first time I heard of a pink flamingo was at the Reno Flamingo Hotel, their logo was a pink flamingo.  Still, these are the coolest/weirdest “pink”animals on earth.  (Of course, there’s pink dolphins too but…)

4. Tarantulas – These are probably the “biggest” spiders on earth today, most of them the size of you hand. (at least)  Contrary to what most people think, tarantulas are not poisonous as they think, it may cause some stings but unlike black widows or hobo spider bites.  I know a lot of my friends have them as pets, I think they can be great pets.

5. Sonoran Desert Toad (Bufo Alvarius Toad) and Colorado River Toads – These toads are famous to drug users for their “LSD” effect. (by licking on the back of the toad)  Their backs exude poison that has similar ingredients to LSD.  Here’s interesting info on that:

Sonoran Desert Toad toxin is not just toxic, it is also hallucinogenic and contains large amounts of the potent hallucinogen 5-methoxy-N,N-dimethyl-tryptamine (5-MeO-DMT). Since their toxin is poisonous to humans if ingested (which includes toad licking), psychedelic drug users will milk the toads’ poison glands, dry the toxin, and then smoke tiny amounts of it, which supposedly makes it less toxic.

According to some toad-lickers in Florida:

LSD just doesn’t give as intense hallucinations as toad licking.  PETA can take my toad away when they tear it from my cold dead lips.

I think it’s a bad idea to be hallucinated on things, especially if you have to lick a toad so, just be careful out there.  (even more info on these hallucigenic toads and the law)

The parasite then feeds from both the fish’s blood and particles of left over food in the fish’s mouth. It does little-to-no harm to the fish, and the fish has no problem using the parasite as a functioning tongue.

I swear on my life this is 100% real. I was walking down the street looking for stuff to photograph and this guy is just sitting outside a coffee shop with this 80 year old woman and he is taking these little sofa things out of a bag. Then he opens another compartment in the bag and there are about five lizards like this guy. Then he would pose them and they would just sit there like this. Don’t really know why.

He didn’t really explain much but he did say they take about three months to train them to do this. I didn’t bother asking if he only trained his lizards to sit in relaxing human posses or if there were other ones too. The whole thing was just to oddly perfect, I really didn’t need him to go in to detail.

Also I like the surprising detailed craftsmanship of the sofa. Now I can say I’ve truly seen it all!

The Chilean Sea Bass, also known as the Patagonian Toothfish, is a pretty popular fish at the nicer restaurants. However, it’s also one that is not only overfished, but also caught using damaging fishing practices like longlining – which kills sea birds – and bottom trawling – which damages delicate habitat. Plus, the high mercury content is a turn off. So while you might find some recipes that you’d love to try out that call for this fish, substitute it for something like Pacific Halibut or Striped Bass instead.

Her fears were recognised when an X-ray revealed something was obstructing the 9.7kg spaniel’s bowel and vets said if he wasn’t operated on immediately he would be lucky to survive the night.

But the $2200 life-saving operation turned to hysterics in the surgery when vets found a piece of underwear was to blame for Baxter’s misfortune.

The dog’s owner said she couldn’t believe it when the vet rang her at 3am on Sunday following the surgery to say they’d found women’s undies.

Here’s some facts about this cool bird in Australia that’s dangerous as hell:

Cassowaries are listed as the world’s most dangerous bird in the 2007 edition of the Guinness Book of World Records. The Cassowary has three toes and the middle one is the longest and has a claw on the end of it which the Cassowary will use to defend itself.
