Battery Explosion costs Man his Ear!

battery-explosion

Here’s a sad story of a man who tried to check the water levels of his golf cart battery using his lighter.  Well, the battery exploded and the man lost one of his ears.  Luckily, the man lived through the explosion but for those of you who are checking water levels on your battery, don’t use a lighter. – link

His lighter appears to have caused a hydrogen explosion. Pieces of the battery flew up a such a high speed that it knocked most of his right ear off. “I reached up to check where the blood was coming from and all I could feel was part of a nub sticking out where my ear used to be.” Explained Lesnar.

  • I'm amazed at the damage an expoding battery can do. Most people are not aware that lead-acid battery fumes are explosive.
