There are around 200 million rats in the United States alone. Rats can be a severe problem for homeowners. Rats have plagued mankind since prehistoric times and have been linked with infectious illnesses resulting to deaths of millions. It can transmit as many as 35 types of diseases that can infect both humans and livestock. Rats can adapt to their environment and can have children quickly. One pair of rats can generate 15,000 descendants in a year. This characteristic allowed it to survive over the centuries.
